Special Weapons And Tactics (SWAT) teams use
military-style light weapons and specialized tactics
in high-risk operations .... that fall outside regular,
uniformed police operations ... and include use
of specialized firearms including submachine guns,
assault rifles, breaching shotguns, riot control agents,
stun grenades, and sniper rifles.
The Bellevue police SWAT team,
operating outside its jurisdiction,
and clear across Lake Washington,
shot and killed a U.S. citizen
in neighboring Seattle.
