Many areas issue weather-related "burn bans"
- or have permanent burn bans -
against using wood-burning fireplaces and stoves.
However, they typically provide an exemption
... if the wood-burning appliance is the
"only source" of heat.
Duhh! People just remove their furnaces
(or do not replace them when they wear out.)
and then burn wood 100% of the time.
