Political Factoid

Parental choices (or abdication):
  • High salt diets, especially in fast foods, sets American youth up for higher risk of diabetic health problems for the rest of their lives.

  • Alcohol and drug use by teens alters their brain development and sets them up for higher health risks throughout their lives.

  • Television and electronic games prevents children from getting needed exercise and sets them up for health problems for life.

  • Soda and other bottled drinks in lieu of milk prevents children getting needed calcium and vitamin D, thus paving the way for health problems for life.

  • Home schooling prevents children experiencing some key social and other interactions with the reality of life they must eventually face.
