The Republican Congress
proposed to offer VISAs
to wealthy immigrants who
will buy homes in the U.S.

• Reduce the pressure for the banks
  to have to take "write-downs" on
  home mortgages or be saddled
  with so many foreclosed homes.
   
• Raise home prices such that the
  American middle class families
  cannot afford them.
   
• Demonstrate to the world, class bias
  in American immigration quotas.
   
• Perpetuate the division between
  the haves and the have-nots.
