"While administrative expenses
for private [health care] insurers are
about 12 percent,
. . .  Medicare's administrative
expenses are estimated to
be as low as 2 percent."
  
 
The difference is primarily profit and greed,
which "pro-business" politicians (e.g., Republicans)
work so hard to protect.
