TransUnion is a consumer credit service
company headquartered in Chicago, IL,
and one of the notorious big three
credit reporting agencies which collect
and maintain massive databases of
personal information about virtually
every American, and sells that
information for a profit.
TransUnion was originally formed in 1968 as a holding
company for the Union Tank Car Company, a railroad
leasing organization.
The Union Tank Car Company was originally a
component of the Standard Oil Trust, and the
vehicle by which oil prices were manipulated for years.
